Lake #02-061

Named in honor of the Winter Olympics, these pups score a perfect "6."  (Even from the French judge.)

After a month in RAGOM care, only one puppy remains.  Are you the perfect home for Lake?

UPDATES:

4/21/02:  Yet another week and no home for Lake. Had a possible but they decided on a Boxer instead. Lake is no longer looking for snow banks to pee in, which is good cause there isn't anymore. There was a week or so where it was funny to see him look around for a patch of snow.....cause I got to goooooooooo. We went exploring in the back woods He found his first snake of the season, and is interested in the mounds left by the pocket gophers. Helped while I picked up the fire wood, ie. chewed on a stick. It's the wood tick season and have found a few on Buddy, but none as of yet on Lake. Anyone out there looking for a great pup, this is the one. Let's find him a forever home.

4/14/02:  Well Lake went in for his rabies shots and distemper today. The vet sure was impressed with his weight , attitude, coat and temperament. Overall he was WOWED. Lake is a keeper and will make someone a very nice family addition. If we didn't have two of our own...well never mind. Lake is looking forward to meeting the family of his dreams. He knows you are out there. Been wonderful weather, and we have been spending plenty of time outside. He isn't quite used to going potty on the grass yet so he looks for a snow bank, we are running out of those!!

We had a nibble on a forever home for Lake, but alas they didn't want him.  Their loss is someone else's gain, however, he is one great pup.  I was gone for 4 days this week and he sure has shot up in height.  Loves playing with our terrier and golden.  Is learning to "fetch" and doing very well at it may I add.  No "accidents" in the house this week, but had 1 in his kennel when Amy had to work a long day.  Been working with him with a pheasant wing and he is coming along nicely.  He'll make a good hunter if someone is so inclined.  Let's find this great little fella a forever home.

Well Lake is letting us know he needs to go out.  Still a few "accidents," but they are by the door.  So it's the humans not getting to the door fast enough.  Got him a smoked bone to chew on and he sure seems to like that.  Maybe it'll help with the sharp puppy teeth.  He has been a real treat and would love to find him a nice forever home.

Well poor Lake is trying to grow into a big dog.........his mind says he is but his body is telling him differently.  He shows no fear, and is willing to investigate new things.  Sticks with us real well......and if someone should need a nice puppy Lake will make a wonderful addition to their home.  Working on the house breaking yet, he did go to the door last night and let us know that he wanted "out."  I'll keep you posted.

Lake seems to be enjoying this country life.  He is growing like a weed, almost as tall as our Jack Russell.  He still enjoys playing tug with either of the dogs.  He has taken to chewing rawhides and really likes that (puppy bubble gum). With any luck they will help with the sharp puppy teeth.  He'll make a good addition to someone's home.

Well Lake has been at our house for about 4 days now.  He seems to have adjusted well to the country life.  My Golden and he get along very well.  (Amy's Terrier still hasn't warmed up to him yet.)  Lake is a bundle of energy for about 45 minutes then it's down for a nap.  He has a great appetite, and usually snacks after each trip outside. I introduced him to a pheasant wing and he sure seemed to enjoy that.  Proper training and he would make a good hunting dog.  He is very friendly and will make an excellent pet for someone soon.

Lake with his new best friend

Lake is an active little fellow, he has mastered stairs making the job of watching him a bit tougher, but he is still a treat.  He is interested in the cat and wants to play with her but the cat is not into dog sports, so doesn't hang around.  No fighting between them, the cat is used to dogs.  He has been outside with the horses, and doesn't shy away from them.  He didn't care for the sound of the shovel on the cement today seemed frightened a bit.  He enjoys sleeping on my lap in his spare time.  I've nicknamed him snickers.........for the commercial......."not going anywhere for awhile"  Anyway he is a real peach, and will make someone a very nice pet.

"Not going anywhere for a while?"

What a little charmer this little fella is!!  Loves to play with the stuffed animals.  My dog Buddy and he enjoy playing tug with them.  buddy will play nice until he has had enough then take it and walk away.  Gave Lake the last of his wormer, and did see a few more worms in his stool.  Hope that takes care of that.  He snuggles real nice and isn't making quite so much noise during the night as he first did.  Likes to sleep on a lap, if at all possible.  Just wait till he gets big!
