Jersey #02-070

Hi, My name is Jersey and I am a very dignified senior golden.  I have learned all of the appropriate things that a golden should know such as where to go potty, what to chew on and what not to chew on, to sit, lay down and come to my family when they call me.  I have lived my entire life - up to now - with 2 other dogs, a cat and 2 children.  I loved them all!  In my older age (I am 10), I am not quite as active as my younger counterparts, but I still have a lot of love and warmth left to give to any family that wants a quite loving addition to their family.

UPDATES:

4/27/02: Hi Everybody, Guess what?? I have found my new forever home and boy are they nice! My foster mom was very sad to say good by to me but I think that she knows that I will have a terrific life with my new mom and that everything will be OK. Thank you RAGOM for helping me to find a home that I can call my own for the rest of my life!

4/25/02:  Well, I am still just hanging out here at my foster home. I have heard that some people don't want to adopt me because I am old. Let me reassure you, I am still a wonderful boy (or so I am told) and I have plans on being around for years to come. I thought you would enjoy a new picture of me (I'm the handsome guy on the right) with my foster brother and sister. They have been wonderful to me, but I would really love to find a home that I can call my own!

4/15/02:  Hi, things are going just fine here at my foster home! My biggest challenge right now is dealing with this annoying little puppy that my foster family has brought home. He seems to think that I am a living jungle gym and furry chew toy. I have proven myself - once again - as to how patient I am because I don't growl or nip at him - I just try to ignore him for as long as I can and then I just get up and leave. You can imagine how I felt the other day as I was trying to chew on my bone with a 12 pound puppy perched on top of my head and all my foster mom could do was laugh hysterically. Even though I didn't get the humor of the moment, I did get a doggy treat for being such a patient, calm, good boy so I guess that it wasn't all bad.

I have met many new people at my foster home and they all have told me what a wonderful dog I am - boy, that could really go dogs head! My foster mom says that I am a "low maintenance dog" because I know basic obedience, I come when I am called and I don't get into trouble. She thinks that I would be the perfect dog for someone who does not have a lot of experience with dogs and would like to start out slowly. What I would really love is a family that can take me for relaxing walks in the park or spend the evening watching a movie by the fireplace. But more than anything I want to find a home that can give me as much love as I have to give them!

3/19/02:  Hi again. I am having a wonderful time with my foster family but would really love to find a home of my own!  I have proven myself to be so well trained that they let me have free run of the entire house.  Most of the time, however, I prefer to be where the human members of my pack are.  Last week I went to the vet and got a clean bill of health.  I do have a slight ear infection, but that is clearing up nicely so no more problems.  In fact, my vet thought that I looked great for a 10 year old dog!

Bad habits?  Nah... you don't get to be as sweet and dignified as I am if you have bad habits!  I am looking for a family that I can love unconditionally with lots of kisses and happy smiles for the remainder of my "golden years."  If you are that family, let RAGOM know so that we can meet.
