Ruby (Cherokee) 02-214

October 19, 2002:  This is an update on your Cherokee who we have renamed Ruby. She is a bright and happy puppy. We had some snow on Thursday and She was very excited about that. We did complete a puppy socialization class and have signed up for an obedience class. Ruby thinks I still need help to communicate better! She had one vet check and is due for her 16 week check next week. We're still working on the potty training. She has occasional accidents in the house. She's a real chewer!! She's getting a little better about leaving our hands alone though. We are just about done with the small gentle leader and will return it to you to use with more puppies.

September 17, 2002:  Hi; We've been waiting until we had some pictures to share. We changed her name to Ruby. She's been settling in nicely. She seems to have been taught how to sit. We've been taking her to puppy charm school. She seems like a really smart dog and I hope we're worthy of her. We appreciate all the loving care that you all spent on her and I think she does too. We brought her to the vet for an introduction and she has a "real" appointment this week. She's not too sure of the lake yet. She spreads her toes and moves really slow if you can picture it! She does not like the hot sunshine! She seeks out a shady spot right away. I've been spreading the word about RAGOM to everyone around here and left some brochures at the vet. (The puppy school is through them too). She has adapted to her crate for nighttime and jumped over the baby gate the first weekend. Roger built a nice gate between the back hall and the kitchen which has worked to keep her corralled while we can't watch her. we have all four exits from the kitchen blocked off with gates and cardboard until she's housebroken.
