While we have re-homed thousands of dogs over the years, the best part are the happy endings. Many many of our dogs that are adopted meet their new forever home through one of these events! One of the quickest ways to meet several dogs at a time that you are interested in adopting is to attend one of these events. Fosters bring their foster dogs to the events and you get to meet the dog and talk to the foster. We have had so many people fall in love and adopt the dog they met at an event it is truly unbelievable!
RAGOM is involved with many educational opportunities as well as re-homing Golden Retrievers. One of the things we do is visit grade schools. We teach children how to approach dogs, talk about the importance of having a dog as a house pet and member of the family, discuss vet care, and some obedience training topics.
We have booths at local dog shows, conduct informational meetings at Petco, Chuck and Don's, the Minnesota State Fair, and attend events held at Nature Centers to educate the public about rescue and what it means to be responsible pet owners.
We also participate in various activities during the year such as walking in the St. Louis Park Parktacular Parade and have a booth at their "Meet your Community" Event. RAGOM also attends the University of Minnesota's yearly Open House at the Veterinary Hospital.
RAGOM is a non profit group of volunteers who not only re-home wonderful dogs, but also try to inform everyone what rescue is. You don't need to purchase a pet from a pet store, and you don't need to own a show dog if you just want a family pet. There are lots of rescued pets needing homes and we want the public to know these animals are out there waiting for their forever families.

Girl Scout Troop 52061 Makes a Special Presentation to RAGOM
on February 7th, 2009 at the PetCo in Woodbury
A group of 5th and 6th grade Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 52061 in Woodbury have been working towards earning their Bronze Award. This is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can receive. As a part of the Bronze Award, they needed to perform a community service project. After the girls researched many animal charities, they found RAGOM was the most deserving and decided they would like to work with RAGOM.
Congratulations to Girl Scout Troop 52061! For all their hard work to support RAGOM and the dogs. The girls did a donation drive to collect a variety of items to suppport RAGOM's mission. On Saturday the Troop came and participated in the PetCo event in Woodbury and made a presentation of dog beds, blankets and toys for the foster dogs. We would like to thank them for their support of RAGOM and all of the dogs.
