RAGOM's Annual 5K Fun Run & Walk and Picnic, September 20th 2008

We had a GReat day! The weather was wonderful and many many people and dogs came and had a blast. There was food, prizes, demonstrations, vendors, a foster dog showcase and many dogs in the lake chasing tennis balls. If you missed the picnic and fun run, you clearly missed a good time, not to mention lots of Golden kisses! "Thank you" to the many people who sent notes and pictures about how much they, and their Goldens, enjoyed the picnic! We are truly happy that you came out to spend the day with us and celebrate.

The "Foster Showcase" was awesome. If you didn't get to meet our furry four-legged friends at the picnic you can take a look and see who joined us for the "Foster Showcase". This way if you got confused with all the beautiful Goldens, you can track them down and take a closer look. Just follow the link to their web page for more information! Stella 03-332, Ripley 04-306, Smiley 08-020 (boarding), Mattie 08-178 (adoption pending!), Kaycee 08-215, Sheridan 08-257, Jack 08-278, Bailey 08-283, Mike 08-306, Laycee 08-349, Riley 08-340 (Adopted!), Sophia 08-351, Brie 08-369, Cheyenne 08-406 (adopted!), Trucker 08-370, Caesar 08-386, Rupert 08-394, Brandi 08-397, Cowgirl 08-401, Liberty 08-410, Lorenzo 08-411 (adopted!), Kay Cee 08-415, Zoey 08-417, Ranger 08-418, Bruce 08-423, Goldie 08-429, Jackson 08-442 adoption pending!), and Tucker 08-456 (adopted!).

There were nearly 300 folks who particpated in the 5K Fun Run and Walk. There were many dogs that accompanied their two-leggeds on the trip. There were four lucky winners for two i-Pods and two i-Pod Nanos. Check out the nifty T-shirts the runners have on.

The Girl Scout Troop 51752 were there volunteering their time helping. They had kids games set up. The kids had the opportunity to win youth fishing rods donated to RAGOM by Woman Anglers of Minneosta (WAM)! Thanks WAM! The kids had huge smiles on their faces when they won their new fising rods!

We had many excellent demonstrations. Deb Schneider from All Breed Obedience & Behavorial School for Dogs, did a "Canine Good Citizen Certification" demonstration. The Red Cross had information on pet first aid and did a demonstration. They also have upcoming "Patch Your Pet" classes. ( Patch Your Pet Flyer). The folks from "Basic Animal Rescue Training", known as "B.A.R.T.", had a booth and did a very neat demonstration on what they teach the fire fighters for animal rescue at fire scenes. They are a nonprofit who donates the first aid equipment for animals to fire departments. Stone Mountain Pet Lodge did some free grroming demonstrations as well.

We would like to AGAIN extend a special "Thank you!" to our sponsors. Please follow the links and visit them on the web.

St. Louis Park Parktacular Parade, June 14th, 2008

If you missed the Parktacular Parade and RAGOM Booth, you missed a lot of fun. We had great weather and lots of people who came out to enjoy the parade and the booths. We had several foster dogs and several previously adopted Golden Retrievers walking in the parade as well. All the beautiful Goldens had the youngsters in the crowds jumping up and down to pet and play with dogs as they walked by. We had several young admirers with big smiles posing for the camera with the dogs. Foster dogs who enjoyed the walk were young Peyton 08-297, Ruby 08-292, Captain Jack 08-278, and Bizzy #05-335 . Other Golden celebrities in attendance were Kula, Raz, Jazz, Sadie, Chaz, Sgt. Pepper and Allie. Click the link on the name of the dog to read more about these Golden buddies!

We also had lots of folks stop by the RAGOM Education Booth and meet the dogs. There is another opportunity to come out and meet everyone coming up in two weeks! June 28th and 29th at the Twin Cities Pride festival! RAGOM will have a booth both days, come on out and visit us!

Chuck and Don's in Shakopee Event, June 7th, 2008

RAGOM took over the Chuck and Don's boulevard adjacent to their parking lot on Saturday afternoon. We got lucky and the weather held for us. We had lots of dogs! Bizzy #05-335, Frankie #07-623, Izzy #08-040, Toro #08-213, Rylie #08-235, Tanner 08-260, and Sparky 08-281! Click the link on the name of the dog to read more about these Golden buddies! We also had lots of folks stop by and meet the dogs. Some people took the opportunity to come out see a dog they have their eye on while checking out the "Available Dogs" page on the website.
If you haven't had a chance to come out to one of these events, you are missing a real opportunity! You can meet several dogs at once. Some people really find this a nice way to help narrow their search for a new addition to their family. Never mind that any chance to play with lots of furry, lovable Goldens is a Great day!

Maple Grove PetCo Event, May 17th, 2008

We filled the store with Goldens, and mixes of all colors! We had a great turnout of fosters with their dog, and some approved applicants. Several people brought their own dogs to see if they wanted another family member. There was a couple that came from River Falls, WI. who took notes of all the dogs they liked. IKE was the dog they really liked. We asked them what they drive because Ike is so large, and they said they go to Arizona for the winter. They said they own an SUV just for the dog, and drive a smaller car for errands. A special thank you to the Circle Pines Girl Scouts for all their hard work and donations to RAGOM.

Fridley, MN, February 9th, 2008

Thank all of you who helped us set an event record with EIGHTEEN foster dogs in attendance today. That was amazing! I know that we had a bunch of new families come out to meet the dogs -- and we already have some new applications rolling in. Thank you to everyone for making it possible.
