This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Simba, a 2 year old English Creme Golden has arrived in the US from Istanbul Turkey! Simba lived at a car wash where he was tied to a post during the day. He was surrendered by his owner to a rescue after he was reported to be loosing weight and developed mange. Simba was scheduled to make the long flight to the US in April, but due to some health issues, stayed in Turkey to heal.

We are happy to report that his health is great, his mange is healed up and he is doing great and loving life in the US. He is sweet as can be and although he is a bit aloof with both humans and canines, he is learning that in this country, people don't just come up to you and say hi and then walk away....we like to love on our dogs here and he is learning to enjoy being loved on:)! He does fine with kids, but likes the older ones better since they are more predictable than the young ones. Cats are unknown, but he does have a large prey drive so I'm guessing he would prefer not to live with that temptation:) Fence will not be required, but a good plan to keep him safe with his new found freedom will be required from FM. He seems to know commands and although he does tend to ignore the commands he doesn't want to hear, he will be easy to train as he does hear quite nicely and loves his treats. He does suffer from some mild storm anxiety, but has not been destructive that we have seen.
