Libby (a/k/a Poppy) is approximately 8+ years old and was a breeding dog. She is a beautiful red PB golden retriever. She came in with 3 other breeding dogs (Doc, Sally and Nina). She is a very sweet, lovely girl who is a velcro dog with humans. She weighs 73# and is not yet spayed. She is UTD and microchipped. She is a very gentle girl who is now very happy to be in a home and have loving and attention!

Poppy is getting used to the good life, but she really misses her foster mom when she leaves the house and in protest had an accident on the rug; so we're anticipating that for the next time. When foster mom came home, she ran to her and squealed!! Otherwise, no problems; she's been pottying outside perfectly and has her favorite spots; very little resource guarding, just a little growling and we're nipping that in the bud when it occurs. She eats well; isn't too picky. She went to the pet store today to do some shopping and loved her outing. She gets her stitches from her lump removals out on Saturday, yeah!!! She walks on the leash nicely--no pulling at all; gets along w/the other dogs great. She picked up one of the other dogs' fuzzy ball the other day and was sooooo proud of herself. TOO cute she is. A perfect love bug for someone. Foster mom brings Poppy to her antique shop and everybody just goos over her and how sweeeeet she is. She loves people. More after the stitches are out and then we'll do some better pictures.
Here's Libby/Poppy with her homemade collar on to protect her stitches on her neck; we get the stitches out tomorrow am--can't wait!! This ice cream bucket really worked good; doesn't bump into anything, can eat, drink, but not scratch the stitches out !!!

Poppy was going to get spayed this week and then last week she went into heat, so that's on the back-burner for now; she's such a delight and her personality is showing more and more daily; when she "frolics" it just makes our hearts sing!!! More after the "heat".
Poppy is getting spayed this week and we'll forward her progress with that, She's a real love and very sweet; she's getting more playful; eats well; seems to be housetrained now, as we don't kennel her when we leave and everything's fine when we return; loves people and has lost some weight; her coat is a magnificent red--hence, her new name, Poppy.
