Golden Oldies

"Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable.
They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges,
                                but they fit well."

RAGOM volunteers were asked why they love old Goldens and why people should not overlook these white-faced sweeties.  Click the pictures to see what they had to say...

Anyone who has ever owned or fostered an old golden knows that the only thing better than a golden retriever is a senior golden retriever.

A golden puppy will give you nothing but love, and ask only that you play with them non-stop, clean up their messes, and forgive them for destroying half the items in your house.

An adult golden will give you nothing but love, and ask only that you play with them whenever you can and forgive them for occasionally acting like the puppies they used to be.

A senior golden will give you nothing but love, and ask for absolutely nothing in return.  Okay, they still want to be petted and have attention, but they are much less picky and less insistent.

Please consider opening your home to one of our older available dogs.  Sure those young ones are cute and eager to please, but give the old guys a chance.  They promise they won't mess on the carpet or eat your remote control, your foosball table, or your Harold and Maude video...  Apply here!
