Hooliganism

Reason for adopting older dog: No hooliganism.
I was reading a book about Newfoundlands, and the author was talking about how people will get a puppy after their older dog has passed on. They have been used to the steady presence of that older dog, and they are totally unprepared for the "hooliganism of the young dog."
This happened to me. Charlie, my aged golden retriever, passed away, and I got a puppy. That puppy is now 3-years-old, and I still can't leave him in a room without supervision.
People who have put down an older dog and are looking for another dog to add to their family should consider how seamlessly adopting an older dog will fit into their lifestyles.
